Privacy policy
This policy explains what happens to personal data when you use CalCentral. It applies to every language version of the site.
Who is responsible
The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is CalCentral, reachable at contact@calcentral.org. The full provider details are in the legal notice.
The numbers you enter
Calculations run in your browser. The values you type are not sent to the server.
When you share a result, the values are written into the part of the link after the # sign. Browsers never send that part to a server, so only the people you give the link to can see them.
Settings stored on your device
If you change the display settings, your choice of region, currency and units is stored in your browser’s local storage under the name calc.prefs. A light or dark theme you pick is stored under theme. These entries stay on your device, are never sent to the server, and exist only because you asked for the setting to be remembered. You can remove them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
The site sets no cookies.
Hosting, delivery and security
The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., which also protects it against attacks. For every request, Cloudflare processes technical data as a processor acting on the provider’s behalf: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the referring page and the browser’s identification string. This data is used only to deliver the site, keep it secure and find faults.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a fast and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The provider keeps no server logs of its own; Cloudflare deletes request data according to its retention schedule.
Fonts and other files
Fonts and all other files are served from this site. Pages make no requests to third-party servers.
Mail to the site’s address is forwarded to the provider’s inbox by Cloudflare’s email routing service. If you write to the site, your email address and message are used only to answer you and to correct reported errors. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Messages are deleted when they are no longer needed for that purpose, at the latest 12 months after the conversation ends.
Transfers outside the EU
Cloudflare is based in the United States. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to data portability (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To exercise these rights, write to contact@calcentral.org.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Portugal this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD, www.cnpd.pt); you may also contact the authority in the EU country where you live.
Changes to this policy
This policy is updated whenever the site’s data processing changes. The date at the top of the page shows the last change.
